-DETAILS- Fire season starts March 1st. Fire permits will be required for any burning in the Forest Protection Area (excluding campfires). Visit burn sites to ensure the fires have been completely extinguished. You can get a free fire permit by contacting your local Agriculture and Forestry office. -WHERE- Forest Interpretive Centre

-WHEN- Sunday June 4th 2:00 - 5:00pm

-DETAILS- Bring your friends and family and see if you can find all of the hidden geocache treasures! On hand help will teach you all about geocaching. Please bring a smartphone if you have one. Snacks and refreshment will be provided. Free to attend.

-DETAILS- Things are being changing things up this year and Party In The Park  will be in June. Kickstart your summer at Rotary Park. Great music, food, entertainment and lots of family fun. The Watchmen will be headlining in the stage on Saturday June 17. FREE to attend.  More details will be posted closer to the event date.

-DETAILS- Celebrate the unique cultures of Canada’s First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples. This is a free event featuring performances by the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation Dancers, music, food & history.

-DETAILS- Bring your little ones and come down to the Rotary Park to celebrate another great year with Parent Link! Enjoy a variety of games and a free BBQ lunch for everyone. There will be messy play, prizes, a treasure hunt and many more activities.


-WHAT- Canadian Voyageur Brigade Events

-WHERE- Riverboat Park and Rotary Park

-DETAILS- From 11 to 1 take part in the official landing of the Voyageur Canoe Brigade in Whitecourt. Ceremony celebrates the history of Voyageurs in Canada through a historic re-enactment of a Voyageur Canoe landing. Join us at Rotary Park from 5 to 8 to learn about the individuals padding the 333 km along Jasper and Fort Assiniboine waterway and take a ride on Rotary Pond while enjoying live music, free BBQ and interactive booths and displays.

-DETAILS- All sorts of AMAZING activities planned here in Whitecourt for Canada Day. It all starts with the parade at 9am. There is a pancake breakfast at the Seniors Circle at 10am. Lots of great family fun and games at Rotary Park from 11am - 3pm including the singing of ‘O Canada’ at 2pm. Fireworks set to go at 11:15pm.

-DETAILS- To celebrate Fox Creek’s 50th Anniversary the library is building the town out of Lego. All the Lego is provided they just need the builders to come in and build a structure to add to the town. Magic the Gathering card tournaments on Saturdays at 5pm, Duel Academy lessons on Tuesdays at 4 & a neat art class with Brydon starting at 4pm every Thursday! Anne Adult Learning offers free one-on-one tutoring program for adults, to help improve skills like reading/writing, english language skills, math, basic computer skills and work towards General Education Diploma.
