-DETAILS- The Whitecourt and District Public Library will be kicking off its annual Summer Reading Program with a free pancake breakfast in the library parking lot on Sunday June 24 from 10 am to noon. -WHAT- Canadian Voyageur Brigade Events

-WHERE- Riverboat Park and Rotary Park - Whitecourt

-DETAILS- From 11 to 1 take part in the official landing of the Voyageur Canoe Brigade in Whitecourt. Ceremony celebrates the history of Voyageurs in Canada through a historic re-enactment of a Voyageur Canoe landing. Join us at Rotary Park from 5 to 8 to learn about the individuals padding the 333 km along Jasper and Fort Assiniboine waterway and take a ride on Rotary Pond while enjoying live music, free BBQ and interactive booths and displays.

-DETAILS- Celebrating Canada 150 with the Canadian Voyageur Brigades. Canoe Arrival best viewed at 3:30pm behind the Legion and Arena - Fort Assiniboine Agriculture Centre. Landing Ceremony at 3:45pm Woodlands RV and Marina with a parade at 4pm to Fort Assiniboine Museum. Followed by FREE BBQ & Entertainment by Michael Mitchell Metis Child Dancers and Calvin Vollrath. Campfire at Welsh Park Campground 9pm



-WHAT- Fox Creek’s 50th Anniversary & Canada Day Events

-WHERE- Silver Birch Golf Course, Visitor Information Centre & Community Hall

-DETAILS- Saturday: Breakfast 8-10am Community Hall

Parade registration 10am Silver Beach Golf Course, Parade will start at 10:30am and finish at the Visitor Information Centre. Opening Ceremony, O’Canada and performance by Fox Creek Highland Dancers to follow. Lunch and Afternoon Activities at the Visitor Information Centre include: Face Painting, Balloon Artists, Bouncy Castles, Kiddie Games, Fishing Pond, Dunk Tank.

Sunday: Breakfast 8-10am Community Hall with Jumpy Castles & Soap Box Derby will be starting around 11am

-WHAT- Fox Creek’s 50th Birthday & Canada Day

-WHERE- Fox Creek Community Hall

-WHEN- July 1st 5:30-11:30pm

-DETAILS- Fox Creek welcomes you to celebrate it’s 50th Birthday with a dinner sponsored by the Town of Fox Creek from 5pm to 7pm. 7pm will be the Time Capsule Revealing. Beer Gardens and Family Dance from 5:30pm to 11:30pm and Fireworks at 11pm.



-WHAT- Canada Day 150 Celebrations

-WHERE- Rotary Park

-WHEN- Saturday July 1st

-DETAILS- All sorts of AMAZING activities planned here in Whitecourt for Canada Day. It all starts with the parade at 9am. There is a pancake breakfast at the Seniors Circle at 10am. Lots of great family fun and games at Rotary Park from 11am - 3pm including the singing of ‘O Canada’ at 2pm. Fireworks set to go at 11:15pm.

-DETAILS- To celebrate Fox Creek’s 50th Anniversary the library is building the town out of Lego. All the Lego is provided they just need the builders to come in and build a structure to add to the town. Anne Adult Learning offers free one-on-one tutoring program for adults, to help improve skills like reading/writing, english language skills, math, basic computer skills and work towards General Education Diploma.
